Joining
the Stampin' Up!© Team Hello, my name is Patty Jones and I have been a
Stampin' Up!© demonstrator since February of 2002. I have
always loved arts and crafts and when I saw my first hand-stamped
card I knew that was something I had to explore further! I
love teaching others how to use stamps to make cards, gifts, craft
projects, and scrapbook pages. I especially love the fact that it is
so easy that even those who think they are not artistic can create
and enjoy it. To love what we do This is the Stampin' Up!© motto that so accurately
describes the mission of the company and it's independent
demonstrators alike. Stampin' Up!© was established 16
years ago and is one of the leading stamping and
scrapbooking companies. The high quality
Catalog and Idea Book is loaded with exclusive stamp images and many
exclusive accessories, including 48 colors of coordinating
cardstock, ink pads, markers, and pastels. As a demonstrator you earn a 20% instant income on
sales, and also have the opportunity to earn additional commissions
based on sales and the sales of your downline. Demonstrator
Kits contain stamp sets, ink pads, cardstock, craft & rubber
scissors, Stampin' Scrub™ and Stampin' Mist™ stamp cleaning
supplies, etc. plus it has all necessary paperwork and a training
video and workbook to get you started. The price of the kit is
$199.00. There is a Stampin' Memories™ Add-on that can be
purchased for an additional $50 at the same time that includes
several items for scrapbooking including 6x6 Designer album, 12x12
cardstock asst., alphabet set, craft pad, Simply Scrappin'
Kit™, Bold Brights tag sheets and journaling marker. In
addition to this, new recruits may purchase anytime within their
first year a Business Booster kit with Catalog/Idea Books, mini
catalogs, Inspiration Sheets, Guest Invitations, Order Forms,
Incentive Stamps for $36......this is an awesome deal! After purchasing a demonstrator kit you have all the
ingredients necessary to get a successful start and to begin
demonstrating, without a lot of other cost. Stampin' Up!©
provides printable versions of all forms on the demonstrator
website, or you can order them at a reasonable price to have on
hand. The Demonstrator website is also an awesome resource that
contains workshop outlines and projects, mileage and income tracking
sheets, stamping inspiration, and so much more. In addition to
all of this, Stampin' Up!© provides a monthly magazine to
demonstrators that contains business tips, creative inspiration, and
all current company news. Your enthusiasm and love of stamping
will be the best advertising tool you have; by sharing with friends,
family, and scrapbookers you will find many new and some
unsuspecting customers. They in turn, will share their
enthusiasm with others and your business will grow. After all,
who doesn't love to share a hobby with their friends and
family? There are several options available to help you
maintain your business and meet the quarterly minimum of $300.
Many hobby demonstrators simply meet the minimums with their own
orders and sometimes those of friends and family. You can
tailor your business to your family’s needs. You
may schedule as many, or as few workshops as you would
like. Other options include forming Stamper's Clubs that
either meet monthly or just order monthly, stamp camps, book
parties, and individual customer orders. Personally, I am
not doing any workshops at this time and have a couple of
Marker/Cardstock clubs and a Stamper's 6 Club. I try to have
quarterly stamp camps to teach my customers new techniques. I
spend an average of 3 hours/wk. gathering and organizing orders and
delivering product. The business is flexible and when our
family schedule permits, I will be able to go back to doing
workshops and preparing samples and projects. When doing
workshops you can plan to spend 2-3 hours preparing projects and
cutting out supplies to be used; many demonstrators prepare one
workshop outline per month and will demonstrate the same items all
month long to cut down on preparation time. As a demonstrator, you will need to keep your
cardstock supply replenished to always have materials on hand for
projects. You may also want to add to your ink pad and stamp
supply. If you are seriously looking for a profit, that can be
attained by making wise purchases and planning demonstrations
that use the stamps and accessories you have available. On the
other hand, if you are just looking to build your supplies at a
discount....the money you earn from sales can all go toward your
wish list and you didn't have to put out extra investment. Word of mouth and workshop bookings are the best and
most cost effective advertisement, but the company also provides
some advertising templates to use that will stay within the legal
advertising guidelines of the company policy. You may
also set up at craft fairs, etc. by using the pre-approved
Show On The Go™ kit available through Stampin' Up!© without any
further hassle. If you choose not to purchase the Show On The
Go™ kit you will need to submit photos of your booth, as well as,
other important information to Stampin' Up!© well in advance of the
event for their approval. This helps ensure that all
demonstrators represent the company image in a professional
matter. |
