Changing Your Work at Home Mom Business Course Changing Course This is a tough one. Personally, I have ADD and even if I am doing well at something - I cannot do it for a long period of time before I begin to hate it. For most other folks, though -- there are just some times when you try to do something new to generate some extra income and you realize it isn't working. My biggest concern in helping you to choose the right path is for you to do what makes you truly happy. Nothing makes life suck more than having a job you hate. Well, there are other things, but those are for another article. *smiles* So that is why I asked you to do the two writing exercises in previous tutorial articles. Whether this is your first time attempting to work at home or a subsequent attempt, take the time to figure out what you really enjoy. Listen though -- even if your first choice doesn't work out -- it is just a learning lesson. Not a mistake or failure. Got it? So the question is when to give up and try something else? The answer? When you are snapping at your kids and husband because you are too stressed. When you feel like a fraud. When you realizing that you are "hating" your current business life. When you feel boxed in or trapped. When there are more days that you want to scream than days when you want to smile. There is always excitement when beginning something new. When that newness wears off so will the excitement begin to ebb. But just like in any relationship, contentment and happiness is more important that the adrenaline rush thrill feeling. Also, if you have been putting more money into it than you can afford or even if you can afford it but you haven't seen a return and it has been a year, then you also may want to consider making a switch. You will have to listen to your gut and look at your financials to see if you have see sales rising consistently to where you feel that it is just a matter of a little more time. Only you will know when it is time to make a switch. Not your family or your friends. If you are done -- then you are done. Or if you truly believe in yourself and what you are doing - then create a deadline for yourself. If you haven't accomplished what you need to be a certain date, then move on to something else. Just so you know, even if you stop doing a certain type of business to start another, there isn't a reason in the world why you cannot go back and try it again. Different times in your life will allow for different temperaments, values and goals. Very little in life is truly forever lasting. |
