Service Home Business Ideas

If you are all about
the details and have yours down pat, why not help someone else get that
way too?
This article is all
about some Wahm Services home business ideas -- hopefully they will inspire you, get you
thinking and then getting you moving. They all fall in the category of
Personal Services.
I have these topics
listed in no particular order and I've done it in this style so that I may
add to it as I think of new things. You are also welcome to email me and
let me know of a personal service home business idea that I didn't think of.
Mommy's Helper - There are just some mornings where I
could use an extra pair of hands around here. Someone to help with Alex
and the babies, so that I could either work on getting a little more
organized or to work on website stuff. I don't know what I could really
afford to pay, but if you schedule your day right I think you could bring
in a nice bit of change.
House Sitter - I know folks who go away
on vacation for weeks at a time. It would be nice to have someone that
they could trust to either stay or at least check on the house once a day. It would be interesting to
know what could be charged for the "checking in" aspect.
Errand
Service - We are lucky enough to live in a rent-controlled building. A
good majority of our neighbors are retired people. It would be great if
there was someone running an errand service here, especially if it
included taking the client with them sometimes.
Airport Service
- If you live near a major airport, then you know how often people have to
call a taxi or shuttle service to take them to the airport. Who wants to
leave the car at the pay garage for their entire
trip?
Personal Shopper - Do you have style and flair? Are you up
on all the latest trends and understand the classics of today? There are
some folks who are so busy between work and family that they don't have
time for shopping. You can make people's lives happier giving them a
mini-wardrobe make over.
Babysitter - The increased number of
Amber Alerts have parents especially cautious today. Make sure to take at
least a CPR class and check with your local hospital to see if they offer an
actual babysitting course.
Personal Scrapbooks - Not everyone
can scrapbook. It's true. They don't have time or they don't feel creative
enough so they don't even try. Why not help create something beautiful
that a family can treasure for generations.
Calligraphy - Brides
spend a lot of money on their invitations. If their handwriting is not
their strongest gift though, they will look for help.
Temporary
Personal Assistant - If you live near a major city, there will be
folks visiting your area that have a need for someone to help them during
their trip. Make sure that local casting agencies, agents and major
hotels have your information.
Virtual Secretary -
Being a virtual secretary or offering desktop publishing services to business is not a new concept but it is starting to catch
fire these days. I would try striking out on your own before contacting
any agencies. Have a postcard created and do a direct mailing to local
businesses.
Companion - Again, the building I live in does have
quite a few elderly residents. There are those who may be able to afford
someone to just come and keep them company for a few hours a week.
Organizer - Do you know what papers to keep and what can be
throw away? Can you be strong for someone and help them get rid of clothes
that they haven't worn in a year? Are you good at taking space and coming
up with creative storage ideas? I'm not good at any of the above. I'd love
to barter with someone to come help organize me! *smiles*
Typing
Service - This is one I've personally done and still occasionally
offer. Type of services a typist would offer might be to college students
for term papers and also did resumes. I just hung a few fliers at the
local community college and the phone calls came in. This was
before I learned about business, I did not keep up with the advertising and
eventually got bored with it.
Of course, there are
many more options open to you in this area. If none of these appeal to
you, then please use them as a base to start exploring what would suit
your personality.
