This list may be on the short side, but each item is priceless and weighs a ton. They will always tip the scale in favor of your choice to work from home.

1. Time with your children. I made the choice to be a mom. I consider it an honor to be the one to raise them. By being home with my children, I make sure that I get to share my ideals and values. That's my job and my gift to them. If I have to make financial sacrifices to do that, then that is my problem and not theirs. Children will not remember whether or not they got every new toy to come out on the market, but they will remember that their parent was here for them.

2. Time for your husband. Even if you have to work some "over-time", you are still there - in the house with him. You can still converse about your days while you do some filing. You are still spending time in each other's company.

3. Time for yourself. You will have different types of "downtime" when you work at home. If you have nothing pressing on a Tuesday, you have no boss to impress. You can use your child's naptime to enrich other aspects of your life or just take it easy.

4. Time for your spirituality. No matter what your faith is -- sometimes life gets so crazed that your focus on GOD can slip. Your mornings are not going to be a circus any longer. Your schedule allows for enormous amount of flexibility so you can attend that service during the weekday if you know your weekend is a bit booked. Your mind will be clearer to allow for more meaningful connections.

5. Personal satisfaction. There isn't another feeling that matches the feeling of true accomplishment. When you know that you have created something - an entire business that allows you to have the four items above - you know that you've created something special. No one can ever take that away from you.

There are no drawbacks that can come close to these benefits.
